Community Impact: Mentorship with Manish

Since 2021, Citadel and Citadel Securities have partnered with Thrive Scholars to expand access to high-quality education by connecting high-achieving students from under-resourced backgrounds with intensive academic and career programming.

Manish, Global Head of Collateral Management, has mentored and supported Thrive students over the last three years, helping them navigate the often uncharted territory of internship and career opportunities.

In his mentorship role, Manish meets with his mentees quarterly to help them feel more prepared for and confident about what they’re facing professionally and in life.

“I’m the son of a first-generation immigrant, and despite knowing that I wanted to get into finance as a young adult, I had no one to talk to about how to navigate the field,” says Manish. “In mentoring these promising students, I hope to make that journey less lonely for them by being a resource that sets them on a path to success.”

Manish’s commitment to mentorship and engagement with Thrive Scholars benefits the students and amplifies his impact at Citadel. He says that the fast-paced learning culture at Citadel makes employees ideal mentors, as it’s a natural extension of what they do every day with colleagues: solve problems, collaborate and share new perspectives.
